High Tech-House Garden
Refactoring Parallel Heterogeneous Resource-Aware Applications - a Software Engineering Approach
The focus of the RePhrase project is on producing new software engineering tools, techniques and methodologies for developing data-intensive applications in C++, targeting heterogeneous multicore/manycore systems that combine CPUs and GPUs into a coherent parallel platform.
RePhrase is a H2020 project, started on April, 1st, 2015 (http://rephrase.weebly.com/)
Reengineering and Enabling Performance and poweR of Applications
EU STREP FP7
The REPARA project aims to help the transformation and deployment of new and legacy applications in parallel heterogeneous computing architectures while maintaining a balance between application performance, energy efficiency and source code maintainability.
Using Local Inference in Massively Distributed System
EU FET-Open FP7
As the scale of today’s networked techno-social systems continues to increase, the analysis of their global phenomena becomes increasingly difficult, due to the continuous production of streams of data scattered among distributed, possibly resource-constrained nodes, and requiring reliable resolution in (near) real-time.
Robotics UBIquitous COgnitive Network
EU FP7 Project
The goal of Project Rubicon is to create a self-learning robotic ecology.
This project will create a self-learning robotic ecology, called RUBICON (for Robotic UBIquitous COgnitive Network), consisting of a network of sensors, effectors and mobile robot devices. Enabling robots to seamlessly operate as part of these ecologies is an important challenge for robotics R&D, in order to support applications such as ambient assisted living, security, etc.
Autonomic service-component ensembles
The goal of the ASCENS project is to build ensembles in a way that combines the maturity and wide applicability of traditional software engineering approaches with the assurance about functional and non-functional properties provided by formal methods and the flexibility, low management overhead, and optimal utilization of resources promised by autonomic, adaptive, self-aware systems.
Seamless adaptive multi-cloud management of service-based applications
http://www.di.unipi.it/~seaclouds
Enable seemless adaptive multi-cloud management of complex applications, by supporting distribution, monitoring and migration of application modules over multiple heterogeneous (PaaS) clouds.
Parallel Patterns for Adaptive Heterogeneous Multicore Systems
EU STREP FP
The ParaPhrase project aims to produce a new structured design and implementation process for heterogeneous parallel architectures, where developers exploit a variety of parallel patterns to develop component based applications that can be mapped to the available hardware resources, and which may then be dynamically re-mapped to meet application needs and hardware availability.
