Short Curriculum Vitae of Massimo Coppola

I was born in Civitavecchia (RM), Italy, in 1969
1988 I completed the scientific-oriented upper school (Maturità Scientifica) with evaluation 60/60.
1997 First-Class Honours Degree (110 e Lode) in Computer Science at the University of Pisa.
My advisor was Prof. Marco Danelutto, and the thesis is about "Optimisation techniques for structured parallel programs" (Tecniche di ottimizzazione di programmi paralleli strutturati).
1997 I was a consultant at CPR (Consorzio Pisa Ricerche) for the design and development of the SkIE parallel compiler, in the framework of the national research project PQE2000.
1998-
2002
Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Pisa, working with the Parallel Architecture research group. See the pages about my research interests, papers and talks of mine for details.
My advisor is Prof. Marco Vanneschi, topic of the thesis is "Structured Parallel Programming Support for Data Mining Problems". Thesis defense was held on October 29th, 2002.
2000-I am doing teaching activity for various courses in the University of Pisa (mainly those of Concurrent Programming Laboratory for Computer Science)
2002-
2003
Post-Doc research position at the Dept. of Computer Science in Pisa, with topic "Parallel Algorithms for Data Mining".
2003-
2006
April 2003 - March2006, I was a researcher at the ISTI institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR).
2006I have been working at the C.S. Dept., managing maintennance of the ASSIST programming environment, managing research work within the BeInGrid and CoreGRID EU projects. I have been teaching a course on Advanced Parallel Computing.
2006-I am a Post-Doc research fellow at ISTI, working within the XtreemOS EU Research Project. I am also teaching Advanced Parallel Computing.
